Gangotri is a Hindu pilgrim town on the banks of the river Bhagirathi, in Uttarkashi district in the state of Uttarakhand. Gangotri, the origin of the river Ganga and seat of the goddess Ganga, is one of the four sites in the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit.A shrine dedicated to the Goddess was built some 250 years ago by Amar Bahadur Thapa, the Gorkha Commander. The physical source of the holy river is at Gaumukh, 18 kms. further uphill, along the Gangotri Glacier. Several pilgrims trek upto the source to offer prayers either on foot or on ponies.

Kedarnath
is amongst the holiest pilgrimage for the devoutee Hindu, located in in Rudraprayag district. Kedarnath, where a form of the Lord Shiva is venerated as one of the twelve jyotirling (linga of light). Kedarnath hosts one of the holiest Hindu temples, the Kedarnath Temple, and is a popular destination for Hindu pilgrims from all over the world. Shiva, is considered the embodiment of all passions-love, hatred, fear, death and mysticism which are expressed through his various forms. The temple remains open only for a period of six months, due to heavy snowfall in the winter months. Testing the fervor and dedication of the pilgrims, the temple is not directly reachable by road. The only way being, a 14 km trek path from Gaurikund.

Badrinath is the final destination of Chardham Yatra. Badrinath is most visited holy place. Badrinath, the seat of the god Vishnu in his aspect of Badrinarayan, is the most important of the four sites in India's Char Dham pilgrimage. Situtaed in the hills of Himalaya, at the height of 10,248 feet above sea level. Situated in the lap of Nar-Narayan Parvat, with the towering Neelkanth peak (6,597mts.) in the background, Badrinath is one of the most revered Hindu shrines of India. Along the river Alaknanda, the temple is essentially a Lord Vishnu shrine. Also known by the names Badri Vishal and Badrinarayan, it is one of the Char Dham sites and the one amongst 108 Divya Desams. There are a number of hot water pools here namely Tapt Kund, Narad Kund etc.
